Identification Help: Talking Barbie Variation?

by Kristen Giordano
(Saylorsburg, PA)

I wanted to know if the later version (hong kong) talking barbie ever came with long hair or hair extensions. I purchased one, she's the nape curl, centered eyes, but she has a long braid. Couldn't find her in my barbie book. Thanks!

Hi Kristen -
I am only aware of three Talking Barbie versions. It may be a transitional doll, when they were changing from one doll to another. My understanding is that when they changed dolls, they changed over to the new pieces when they ran out of the old so there were almost transitional versions that contained both older and newer parts. The best known is the Bubblecut Barbie with an American Girl Face.
