this is sunsation malibu christie

my grandma bought me & my cousin each, one of these "christie" dolls. she originally came in a shiney yellow ribbed bathingsuit with red ties around the neck.
this is defininitely sunsational malibu christie. i am 100% sure!!!

She is definitely not an African American or Black barbie, the coloring is far to light, she is one of the hispanic dolls (some of the African American ones used the hispanic face mold, so it's easy to get them confused, color is important). There are 2 hispanic barbies with straight arms that I can think of, the hispanic version of the "sunsational Malibu Barbie" (blue swimsuit) or the hispanic "fun to dress" doll. I'm thinking perhaps the malibu...

Does she have earring holes? Most(if not all) straight arm barbies(of that time)did not have earrings.

Your doll looks very light skinned, are you sure she is black? She looks like a 1979 Hispanic Barbie on a straight arm body. If not, I would guess one of the early 80's Malibu Christie's. Sunsational Malibu Christie perhaps. But she is darker...
