Question ABout salt and pepper hair vintage barbie - japanese?

I have a Barbie that I just inherited and she has unusual features - namely salt and pepper or frosted black hair. Her forehead is very high and wide. Her eyebrows are more rounded than her "queen of fashion" sister that I also inherited from the same owner. She had a "U" on the back of her head. I can send several pics. One body has a 9 and roman numerals dating 1958 with "pat pending by Mattel" mark. The other has the "Midge 1962 Barbie 1958 Mattel patented" mark. I'd just like to know what or who she is if you can help. Thanks so much! kat

Hi Kat -
This is not a Barbie doll head - it is a clone. it sounds like her head has been placed on a vintage Barbie body. The U may stand for "Uneeda" - The Uneeda company made a Barbie Clone called "Miss Suzette" - perhaps someone more knowledgeable than about about clones can offer more info.
