Quick Curl Barbie - Question about the beads in her hair

Hey! I just won this wonderful Quick Curl Barbie on ebay! she is in great condition, I'm gonna re-set her hair, and the original beads for her hair is there, but as a bracelet. My question is: How does the beads ''sit'' in her hair? Where they treaded on some sort of elastic string? and also how many beads where used in her hair on each side? I tried to find pictures of it but it was hard, most of the pictures where from the front of the face only! (the pictures i upload are of the actual doll i won)
