Trying to Identify Early 1960's Barbie Dress

by Cathie Murphey
(Atlanta, Georgia)

Initially thought it was called "Enchanted Evening", with the white fur stole. The gown isn't the same though. What I have is from the early 1960's, for a Barbie. The description is a long white satin, sleeveless gown with slight train in the back. It has one snap in the back. The satin material includes a netting underneath. The satin material has no pattern in it. The gown came with a white fur stole. I am unsure of all the other items included. I am 100% certain this is a genuine outfit for Barbie, but it doesn't have any type of label on it.
I appreciate any help I can get. In the middle of organizing collection to sell.
Thanks in advance,
Cathie Murphey

Hi Cathie -
Nothing comes to mind from your description - without a picture it is very difficult to know. All of the Barbie dresses from the 1960s are listed on the site - so you should be able to find it. It may be a homemade dress - they were very common in the early 1960s and many are made very well.
