What kind of Barbie is it?

by Janina
(Germany)

First, I don't know if it's even a Vintage Barbie.

She looks like some I saw from the 1960's called 'Vintage Peggy Ann'.
I know she's not that good looking, my mother found it a few days ago.

And if you could tell me what's the value of that doll...if there is any, because of her bad look.

Hi Janina -
This is not a Barbie doll - it is a "clone" - there were several different Barbie knock-offs sold during the vintage era.

Petra von Plasty
by: Martha Andersen

Hi, the obvious doll I can think of, as you are from Germany, is Petra made by Plasty. The early Petra dolls were unmarked and the first ones were made in 1964. She looks a lot like Petra.

clone

its actually a clone of Bild Lilli who was the inspiration for Barbie. (as barbie was actually a clone, but marketed towards children not men the way bild lilli was.)

this doll, if it is a peggy ann or wendy, are usually about $10 on ebay in bad condition or not.
