2010 My Favorite Barbie American Girl Reproduction
The Barbie doll is a reproduction of the 1965 American Girl Barbie. In addition to the American Girl's original One piece Turquoise Striped Swimsuit and Turquoise Open Toe Heel shoes, this My Favorite Barbie also includes a reissue of the ensemble Matinee Fashion #1640 (1965). This is great news for vintage collectors as a vintage Matinee Fashion can be very expensive to acquire! And from the looks of the photo, the red closed toe heels in the reproduction are the spike heels! (Spike heel closed toe heels for Barbie are very rare, very desirable and very valuable!)
The added bonus is that it is in the wonderful My Favorite Barbie style box with the year (1965) in the corner. I would LOVE to see this style box become standard for all collectible Barbie dolls because it is perfect to dosplay, but the top lifts off and you can see and touch everything - the best of both worlds, I think.

The My Favorite Barbie American Girl Reproduction was released in June 2010.
This is the latest in a long line of American Girl Barbie Dolls, but this is the first to include her original ensemble. It is a very faithful reproducstion of the doll, clothing and accessories.
