Vintage Francie dolls were introduced in 1966. Francie was
Barbie's mod cousin and was the first doll with real eyelashes.
She had a slimmer "teenage" figure.
Francie was introduced during Barbie's
"Glam Years". While Barbie's outfits were glamorous and sophisticated,
Francie's where hip and modern - mini skirts with patterned hose, midi
skirts, boots and very mod glasses.
In 1967 Francie's hip and same size
friend Casey was introduced. Also in 1967, the supermodel Twiggy
became the first celebrity doll in the Barbie family. Twiggy was the
same size as Francie and Casey and had her own wardrobe.
