Dream Date Barbie

According to Mattel...She's everybody's Dream Date!  Barbie is ready for a night on the town wearing a long fuchsia satin gown trimmed in purple.  The sparkly sequin covered bodice ties at the neck, while a rose embellished cummerbund sits at the waist.  Her detachable ruffled flounce could be worn as a wrap, around the waist, over her head, or style your own.  She danced the night away in matching open toe high heels.

Twirly Curls Barbie

Future hair stylists were thrilled with the introduction of Twirly Curls Barbie.  There was a purple styling chair for Barbie to sit in while girls twisted and twirled her hair with the Twirly Curler hairstyler.  Detailed instructions on how to use the Twirly Curler came in the box.  Barbie was ready for her beauty treatment dressed in a pink bodysuit with a long ruffled overskirt accented with a silver waistband.

Angel Face Barbie

With a face like an angel, it's easy to see how this doll got it's name.  Her delicate features were framed with sun streaked hair that could be styled many ways.  Wearing a chantillly lace blouse trimmed in pink with a cameo brooch accenting the high neckline and a long pink skirt, she was marketed by Mattel as "a perfect blend of yesterday and today."

1982 Happy Birthday Barbie

The second Happy Birthday Barbie was issued in 1982.  Almost identical to the first, there are slight color variations in her dress and makeup that are almost unnoticeable unless the first and second dolls are side by side.  The box shares the same theme as the first with subtle changes that make the packaging of 1982 Happy Birthday Barbie unique in its on special way.  See 1980 Happy Birthday Barbie doll for comparison.

Horse Lovin' Barbie

Horseback riding never looked so good.  Wearing a beige faux sheepskin vest over a printed long sleeve shirt paired with stitched leather-look pants, Barbie was ready to ride in authentic western style.  A cowboy hat, boots, and saddlebags that matched her vest completed her outfit.  Her horse's name was Dallas (sold separately) and Ken and Skipper were along for the ride.

My First Barbie Doll

My First Barbie became an instant sensation in 1980, so it was inevitable that there would be a second doll released.  The 1982 doll wore a pink body suit and a pink and white gingham pull-on skirt with ruffle.  Three elastic lace pieces were included to accessorize the outfit introducing a younger age group to the realm of fashion and storytelling.  Her outfit was completed with pink open toe mules.
